I preached a sermon on the Nicene Creed this week. As part of my preparation I tried to re-write the creed in a way that made it more understandable to me. Perhaps I have changed to meaning in what I have done, but I wanted it to be a statement that reflected my faith not simply a empty reiteration of those that have come before me:
I believe in One:
who is infinitely powerful and infinitely personal
bringing order in the midst of chaos
part of us all
known and yet unknowable
God
